Created as part of the Blu Mediterraneo collection, this model transforms an everyday kitchen appliance into a distinctive design object inspired by the colours and atmosphere of the Mediterranean.

Its blue-and-white decorative composition evokes the contrast between the sea and sky, combining ornamental motifs with Smeg’s recognisable rounded, retro-inspired silhouette. The original artistic concept was developed through the collaboration between Smeg and Dolce&Gabbana, with the appliance design created by Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti of deepdesign.

The decorative finish originates from an artist-created prototype and is reproduced through a specialised artistic decoration process, preserving the visual character of the original artwork throughout the collection. This approach gives the toaster the character of an interior design piece while maintaining its practical purpose as a premium kitchen appliance.
