The Porsche × SMEG 917 Salzburg Automatic Coffee Machine is a limited-edition bean-to-cup model inspired by one of Porsche’s most recognisable racing cars – the Porsche 917 KH Salzburg. Produced in only 1,970 individually numbered units worldwide, the machine commemorates Porsche’s historic 1970 Le Mans victory and combines automotive heritage with Smeg’s approach to compact appliance design.

Its distinctive Salzburg Red finish references the legendary racing livery and is complemented by the iconic number 23, Porsche branding and matte-black details across the front panel, steam wand and drip tray. Each example carries an individual number and a metal authenticity plaque, emphasising its status as a genuine limited-edition piece.

Beyond its collectible character, this is a fully automatic bean-to-cup espresso machine designed to prepare coffee directly from freshly ground beans. An integrated grinder provides adjustable grinding levels and quantities, allowing the machine to manage the process from whole beans to the finished drink with minimal manual preparation.

The machine offers six coffee beverages, complemented by hot-water and steam functions. Coffee length can be adjusted according to preference, while the height-adjustable dispenser accommodates different cup formats. Automatic rinsing at start-up simplifies routine care, while dedicated alerts indicate when descaling is required, the grounds container is full, coffee beans or water need replenishing, or the brewing unit has not been installed correctly. The illuminated coffee dispenser improves visibility during preparation, and the machine switches off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity.
